Projects

FOR OUR CORPORATE CLIENTS

Much of our work with corporate clients is focused on helping them identify the best research partners to fill the gaps in their Intellectual property portfolio or scout a specific technology to advance their innovation strategy.  We jumpstart open innovation initiatives working with private sector researchers and scientists to encourage collaboration and accelerate the path to commercialization for the best ideas. FOR OUR UNIVERSITY CLIENTS

Borman & Company understands the demands placed on the tech transfer office in academic settings because we have worked there. Our projects may include a detailed investigation of licensing history to remediate the data and assure that obligations to researchers are met or we may find the partners to connect researchers with to deliver innovation to market. In every engagement we leave the tech transfer team better able to manage the workflow that drives innovation. Learn more

FOR OUR MEDICAL CENTER CLIENTS

We work as advisors to the C-suite, as well as, inside and external legal Counsel on complex intellectual property matters specific to the ecosystem where medical institutions operate. Our consultants have nationally recognized expertise in the systems and processes required to meet the reporting demands of Bayh Dole compliance. We help our medical center clients implement better IP management practices to advance their research for the benefit of patients. Learn more

FOR OUR NOT-FOR-PROFIT CLIENTS

Intellectual property protection for not-for-profit organizations can be just as complex an issue as for our other clients. We have worked with both large and small not-for-profit clients to put processes in place to protect, manage and commercialize their intellectual property assets to advance the mission of the organization.  Learn more

Borman & Company was asked to help when the DOJ challenged the “innovation” relationship between a leading implant manufacturer and the surgeons it selected and compensated to test their orthopedic devices.
